CMJ Music Marathon Department Intern
This internship is for those interested in the inner workings of marketing, promotions and event planning for large scale events and festivals. Interns play a substantial role in assisting from planning, organizing, facilitating and wrapping campaigns. Interns are assigned substantial tasks for the planning and execution of CMJ Music Marathon.
Candidates must have a strong interest in music, marketing and a level of professionalism exhibited in oral communication, written work and phone demeanor. Attention to detail, ability to multitask and some basic computer skills are a must.

CMJ (www.cmj.com) is currently seeking an Art Director to be responsible
for all layout and design of both the weekly and monthly publications,
as well as collateral materials for the company (one-sheets,
presentation cards, PowerPoint design, etc) and some web
design/production. The Art Director is also responsible for organizing
occasional photo shoots and commissioning illustrations for the
magazines. The position reports directly to the VP of Content and would
be roughly 2/3 print work and 1/3 web work.
Skills Required:
- Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and basic
pre-production skills.
- A degree in graphic design, a related field, or equivalent work
experience required
- 1-2 years professional experience required, though highly motivated
recent graduates will be considered.
- Self-motivated and the ability to work fast under tight deadlines.
Web duties include the maintenance of graphic elements on CMJ.com and
partner microsites; daily photo editing and graphic creation, in-house
online ad design and development.
This is the perfect position for anyone with editorial print design
experience who also enjoys working on web projects and is looking to
have creative control. Superior time management skills and attention to
detail are a must. Interest in music and popular culture and/or the
music industry is a big plus.
